Paua Bay Farmstay offers a unique experience.

Morning sun on the Paua Bay Farmstay verandah

We spent 3 days at the farm and Sue and Murray couldn't have been more welcoming. They welcomed us into their home and made us very comfortable as they answered our many questions on not only the farm, but also about life in New Zealand. We enjoyed walking from their house to the ocean while looking at the wonderful views. However watching the dogs move the sheep so easily from one spot to the next was amazing. The room was lovely and had a great view once the fog lifted. We came as guests and left as friends.

We welcome guests to stay with us on our working farm. Breakfast is served in the inviting kitchen amid the sounds of a new farm day. After breakfast guests can choose to gather shellfish and observe seals on the private beach, explore the local environs or simply relax on the verandah surrounded by native bush and birdsong.

If your stay happens to coincide with a scheduled Farm Tour you are welcome to join at a special guest rate.

There are various walking tracks in the area, including Hinewai Reserve. Akaroa, a 20 minute drive away, is an extremely interesting historical village with many activities. Enjoy Dolphin cruises, Penguin tours, the Giant's House mosaic garden and many cafes and restaurants. Visit Akaroa.com for a current list of events and further suggestions.
